Anger Self Assessment Tool

Many people are uncertain if their anger problem is serious enough to warrant an extreme intervention such as an anger management course. Also, people are occasionally required by the court to take an anger assessment test in order to determine whether or not they are a candidate for anger management course work. If you fit either of these categories, or perhaps you are just curious about how you might score, this assessment tool will help you determine your need for anger management intervention.

Use the scale below to determine your anger rating:

0 – 20 You experience anger in ways that are safe and appropriate

20 – 40 You might benefit from an anger study course

40+ Uncontrolled anger is probably seriously disrupting at least some areas of your life. Anger management training is definitely recommended.

In addition, if you answered “occasionally” (3 points) to five or more questions, or “often” (5 points”) to at least two questions, anger management classes are definitely recommended.
