Anger
Busting Workbook
Foreword
In my many years of helping addicts and
their families learn to face the ravages of addiction
and overcome it, I have never found an addiction that
was easy to conquer. The power of shame is so relentless
and its grip is very strong. For that reason, I am always
overjoyed when a new tool appears that can help addicts
get traction in the fight to take back their lives.
I want to congratulate my dear friend,
Jim Baker, for bringing to us just such a tool. The
principles and exercises in the Anger Busting Workbook
offer clear, simple, common sense answers for anyone
who is searching for help in their battle with anger
addiction. Over the years, Jim has helped tens of
thousands of people become successful in business through
his powerful training techniques. It is exciting
to me to see him bring that same expertise to the war
on addictions.
If you are an anger addict, or
in a relationship with an anger addict, this workbook
is going to help you make sense out of the mess your
life is in. Here you will find a road map to guide you,
insights to encourage you, and practical, hands-on exercises
to help you tell the truth to yourself as you plan your
strategy for conquering anger. It is still up
to you to do the work, and the challenge you face is
a tough one. But if you are tired of the same old excuses
and the old results, you will find plenty of reasons
to hope as you work through these pages.
Can a workbook change your life? Well,
it depends. We could just as easily ask, “Can
a canoe paddle change your life?” They are both
just tools. But they can come in real handy if you are
tired of staying where you are and you are ready to
move on in your life. If you pick either one and really
use it, it might just lead to a “moving”
experience. Good luck on your journey.
