If he refuses to comply with your request
to take anger management, be prepared to file for divorce
and request a protective order.
If there is a protective order in place,
do not give him permission to make contact with you,
even if he is acting nice or looking sad.
If he violates the protective order, document
the violation and report it to the police immediately.
If he comes onto the property where you are, don't negotiate
or reason with him, call 911.
Take every threat seriously. Call 911
immediately.
If he threatens suicide, don't reason
with him. Call 911 immediately.
Emphasize to him that there can be no
relationship until he has demonstrated to you, his counselor
and any officers of the court who may be involved that
his anger is clearly under control.
If he continues to violate your requests
and/or the orders of the court, going through with the
divorce may be your only choice. He always has the option
of working on his anger, and if he does, there may be
other options later.
