Chapter 6
ABCs for Your Own Recovery
Sarah knew it was coming. She just didn't
know when. She had been married to Keith for ten years
now, and she could read his rage cycle like an airline
schedule. It had been eight days since his last really
big blow-up. Over the past two years it was rare for
him to ever go longer than ten days without some sort

was always so nice for about 48 hours after he had a
rage attack. He was sweet and he would buy her stuff
and agree to pretty much anything she said. Yes, she
knew what she had to do.
About that time, she heard Keith pull
into the driveway. She decided it had better be tonight,
after Jake went to bed. She already knew how to set
it up. The bill from Neiman-Marcus came today, the one
for the three new outfits and three pairs of shoes that
she bought after the big
