Group Workshop:
Your
Internal Monologue
Internal monologue for Karen's husband:
Why is she bringing this up now? I am really tired,
I have to be at work at 7 am, and I don't even want
to think about it! … Now she is complaining and
criticizing me, accusing me of not caring about the
kids or her. She really has no clue about how much I
sacrifice for this family … Oh, God, now she is
crying. She is going to wake up the kids and it is going
to be my fault again … Maybe if I can just get
her to calm down … I can't believe we are going
through this again. I have to make her STOP!
Now, review your five events and, to the
best of your ability, record your internal monologue.
(Remember, if you have more than five events, use a
separate sheet of paper for the extra ones.)
