Overcoming Anger

Overcoming Anger

Anger is an emotion that is all too common. It is an emotion that I wish didn't exist. We get angry over many things to the degree that some of us need anger management classes. We even get angry at ourselves for mistakes that we have made in our own lives. Overcoming anger is no easy task. Let's take a look at some things that occur that may make us angry and how to try to overcome them.

We have all made mistakes in our lives, and we all have to overcome different issues in our life. Things like losing loved ones, pets, and cars. Life is far from perfect, nothing ever is perfect and it never will be. It actually would get boring after a while. We as humans don't know everything. We learn as we grow, which is one reason we reach out to anger management classes.

Life seems to be a competition. A small amount of competition is healthy, it pushes us to reach for the stars and achieve our goals. However, competition which involves hurting others is wrong. Instead of competing and trying to anger others, why not come together, use your knowledge together in anger management classes, and create something big and beautiful.

If you come across something or someone who angers you, you need to handle things in a mature way. It is difficult, but practice will teach you how to control your emotions. You can follow some simple rules to keep your emotions under control. If you need to react, react to yourself. You can cry, yell, scream, or whatever you feel you need to do. But when you do, do it to yourself, then when you let it all out, you can go through the healing processes such as anger management classes.

First, you will be in denial, you will want back what you lost, no matter what it was or how you lost it. You may be in denial of your anger towards the loss and reasons why. So then the blame game comes next. Do not blame anyone, not even yourself. If you or someone said or did something to anger you, it is time to forgive and forget and move on. If you lose a loved one, that is not your fault, and it is not the fault of the person who lost their life. After the blame game, you then go through the waiting period. You can fix something but choose not to fix it now, you rather wait it out and see if it works itself out. Then you make a new choice, such as anger management classes.

The last and final step is resolving issues. To resolve issues forgiveness is necessary. It seems that many people forgive others on false grounds. If you still bring up the past or feel very strongly about a past argument or reaction, then you truly have not forgiven. You may need to go for counseling or to anger management classes to help you overcome your anger and start to forgive. Genuine forgiveness shows that you not only fully comprehend what happened, but that you also fully comprehend your reactions and responses.
