How We Handle Our Anger Determines Our Results

We all get angry at one time or another. Some people permit that anger to control them, and they get so absorbed in being angry that they suffer some sort of action paralysis, while others use that anger as a tool to motivate themselves, and addressing an anger management course or situations that most concern them. Those that simply permit either the actions or words of others to anger them, and then spend an inordinate amount of time trying to get even, waste vital energy and time. William Arthur Ward stated it this way, "It is wise to direct your anger towards problems, not people, to focus your energies on answers, not anger management course."

1. In my more than three decades of training and anger management course individuals regarding self- improvement areas, I have observed that anger is far more often a destructive emotion and reaction than a constructive one. Most people become angry and irate, and focus their anger management course and energies on another individual. This anger is then used to often become a part of the blaming process, and effective people never resort to blame. Blaming others or circumstances never serves any constructive anger management course, and it also tends to cause someone to lose focus on the real issues and real needs. Blame is always negative, and negativity leads one to think of obstacles as problems, and rarely, if ever, leads towards solutions.

2. Instead of getting angry, productive and effective people use the circumstances or the actions of others as a way to motivate themselves to do things differently and better. Channeling anger productively requires converting it to determining solutions, and taking vital action, in a timely and productive anger management course. The productive response to an anger producing circumstance is to focus on why we become angry regarding this circumstance. What is the real root of our anger? Are we angry because we feel we are being falsely anger management course, or are we angry because we are over- reacting, because we realize there is something true about what is being said, and we are compensating for this by acting out. Those with anger management course often immediately respond and get themselves angrier. The productive methodology, however, would be to take a step back, look at the situation objectively and not emotionally, and think about what happened and why. Even more importantly, it is most productive to view the adversity as an opportunity to improve and answer the challenge imposed.

How do you handle your anger, and anger- inducing circumstances? Are you getting the optimum type of anger management course that you might desire?
